Davis Monroe Financial LLC (“Davis Monroe Financial LLC,” “DMF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit www.mydmf.com (the “Site”) or use our services. Davis Monroe Financial LLC is a licensed mortgage broker, not a lender; we connect borrowers with lenders and do not make credit decisions or fund loans.
This Site policy works together with our Privacy Notice, which we provide under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Regulation P (12 C.F.R. Part 1016). If you apply for a loan or become our customer, we deliver that Privacy Notice to you separately. Where this policy and the GLBA Privacy Notice address the same subject, the GLBA Privacy Notice governs our handling of your nonpublic personal financial information.
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.
Information you provide to us. When you contact us, request information, or apply for a loan, you may provide your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, Social Security number, employment and income information, marital status, and other details needed to evaluate a mortgage inquiry.
Financial information. To match you with a lender, we may collect credit history and credit scores, bank and asset information, debts and obligations, tax returns, and property information.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and similar usage information through cookies and similar technologies.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you;
- Process your mortgage inquiry and match you with suitable lenders;
- Facilitate the loan application process with the lender you choose;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our services;
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and recordkeeping obligations; and
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud and security issues.
How We Share Your Information
As a mortgage broker, we share your application information with the lender or lenders needed to process your loan request. We may also share information with service providers who support our business, such as credit bureaus, title companies, appraisal services, and technology providers, and as required by law, court order, or governmental request.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes, and we do not share your information with nonaffiliated companies so that they can market to you.
Sharing With Affiliated Companies
Davis Monroe Financial, LLC shares common ownership with Sherman Lumber, Inc., a construction company. Because of this affiliated relationship:
- We may share information about your transactions and experiences with our affiliate for everyday business purposes;
- We do not share information about your creditworthiness with our affiliate;
- Our affiliate will not use your information to market to you; and
- We maintain an Information Firewall that limits the financial information shared between Davis Monroe Financial LLC and its affiliate.
If you are referred between Davis Monroe Financial LLC and an affiliated company, you will receive a separate Affiliated Business Arrangement Disclosure describing that relationship. You are not required to use Davis Monroe Financial LLC for financing, and you may choose any lender.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction. You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
- Marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, and you may opt out of text messages by replying STOP. Please allow up to 30 days to process your request. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still contact you about a transaction or service you have requested.
- Limiting information sharing. Federal law gives you the right to limit certain sharing of your information. Our GLBA Privacy Notice explains these rights in detail and how to exercise them.
Because we are a mortgage broker, federal and state law require us to retain certain loan and customer records for set periods. As a result, we may be unable to delete information that we are required to keep, and some requests may be limited by these obligations.
